Security Measures a Joke!!!

I recently went to Russells furnishers to pay off my account and apply for credit to purchase a laptop. The credit was declined due to me having 2 personal loans taken on my name on the very same date! how is this even possible? i have been a vicim of identitiy previously and to this day nothing was done about that? i would like answers as to how these loans were approved and by whom? what security measures does the banking industry have in place to ensure that no fraudlent activity occurs? i can honeslty say NOTHING!!! One loan was for the amount of R26 700 and the other was R34 594!!! Both these loans were taken on the 25/11/2009!!! I need answers as i cannot be held liable for these payments!
