Cancellation of my insurance with no notification

I was doing my Jan 2013 budget so printed off a copy of my bank statement and noticed that my insurance premium for Dec from Outsurance had not been deducted. I called on the morning of 13 Jan to be told that my insurance cover had been cancelled as I was a "multiple-claimer". Surely that is the point to insurance and the reasons for my multiple claims are the poor conditions of the roads in Jhb so during 2013 I had 2 windscreen replacements. Prior to these claims, I had no feedback or complaints from them!!! My insurance was cancelled on 9 Nov and I was not aware of this until early January! Outsurance claims to have sent me correspondence - none received and to have tried on numerous occasions to get hold of me in September. They did get hold of me once and I was in a meeting at which time I was advised that I was a multiple claimer and they were reviewing my cover but that someone would be in touch. After that I received no further communication. I think it is despicable that an insurance co can put people at such a large risk of loss without taking any responsibility. I will be encouraging all my family and friends who are with Outsurance to change to a more ethical comp!
