Standard bank is harassing me

Everyday my phone rings and I answer, and every time there is a message "Standard Bank is an authorized ... " and then asks me to type in my ID number.
Why on earth would I type in my ID number in response to someone calling me.

Why don't they just pick up the frigging phone and call me like any other normal human being!!!

I have checked my account it is not overdrawn, so what do they want, why don't they send me an SMS, or email, it is annoying!!!

Whoever invented this form of customer relations, or customer contact obviously wants the bank to fail.
