When I called into the customer call centre this morning to get a tax certificate for my loan (how much interest and capital paid in a tax year). After following menu after menu I eventually get to a human who cannot help and has to transfer me twice and then when they transferred me for a third time it went to a number that "no longer exists". It tells me that Standard Bank are so lost in their world of call centres that they have lost touch with the customer. I really like it (NOT) where calls are routed to menu after menu of pre-sets and still come across a person that cannot help you and has to transfer you. The one person says I need to go into a branch to get this information. This is pathetic. I can get it in minutes over the phone and email from Nedbank, MFC, Discovery, SA Home Loans. There is a reason my primary banking is done with another institution.
Standard Bank - have a human pick up the phone and start listening to your customer!
