Takes money instead of helping

I have been a Nedbank client for many, many years. And in recent months I have become dubious about its conduct. Firstly, there is no warning if you are about to go into an account negative. Another bank I use offers a 24-hour grace period.

But my latest statement takes the cake. On the 7th I noticed my account would fall short when my credit card payment comes off, so I transferred the appropriate funds. But this morning I discovered that the amount was already subtracted on the 6th - yet this did not display on the statement until the 8th. For a bank with world class infrastructure, that seems mighty suspicious. They waste no time taking my money, but drag their feet when it comes to protecting my interests.

I have also yet to receive any SMS notification about this transaction. The SMSs are routinely late, if they arrive at all - and I am paying for the service. Again, the other bank I use offer this for free AND has yet to fail to inform me in a timely manner of a transaction.

I have tried to approach Nedbank about this, but it appears more eager to get my negative comments off social media networks than solve the issue.
