Lost Car Keys - must pay Car Excess to replace??

For the first time ever, I lost my bunch of keys recently, as they have not been recovered yet, it was time to replace them. Before rushing off to have keys cut etc I called First For Women to enquire about any financial support towards replacing my house key and house remotes and car key. So I received assistance to replace the house key and house remote and I am very thankful for this, however... my complaint is about the replacement of the car key... how can I be expected to pay my car excess if I am looking for support for my car key only? The excess on my car is around R 3800 (yes, i do understand that this high excess keeps my premiums lower), to replace car keys quoted on R 2800 for a VW key??? That is crazy.

I want an explanation.
