Account Debited& no policy?!

I was looking to move my car insurance to Oakhurst with effect January 2014, this was subsequently cancelled as my current insurance provider was able to match the offer. I followed the necessary steps to cancel the policy with Oakhurst only to be debited the premium plus additional amounts! I called to query three times in the space of an hour and my "Client Portfolio Consultant" was just on the phone, well I hope this was true and not call avoidance, Nonetheless I get through and explain my query only to be interrupted, I then give her an opportunity to address me and then ask for it in return only to be disrespected with "mmmm" "mmm". So no cover but I am to email proof that I am covered as well as proof that my account was debited which they can see on their side!! My money will supposedly only be reimbursed in 5 days??

Absolutely appalling Client service by Elvira Coetzee, misrepresentation with regards to additional costs for a policy which ought to have taken effect January 2014 (but was cancelled)! At no point was I told that my account would be debited even after cancellation?! This could have been handled differently and amicably.!
