Life insurance - waste of time

I was contacted by Outsurance who offered me Life Insurance. I spent a good half-hour responding to questions from the caller, who then gave me a quote. I said it sounded good, and asked for the details to be emailed to me so that I could consider before responding. A little later that day I received another call from a different Outsurance representative, who asked me when I had been diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic. On responding "1971" she thanked me and ended the call. I have heard nothing since then (5 days now). I called this morning to complain, and was told that they could not offer me insurance because of my Diabetes. I find it annoying that they did not bother to tell me that, and that I had to call them to find this out. I understand that they should only accept cases that have no risk, but I would also like to challenge any one of their senior management staff to join me in running the 80km Puffer ultra-marathon in August this year, to see whether they can last. I suspect I am a lot healthier than any of them! I suspect, too, that not one of them will have the courage to take up this challenge. Let's see who is healthier than whom, and who is a better insurance risk!
