Some weeks ago I was telephonically offered a Diners Club card, which according to them would be received within a week. Instead of sending the card to a branch of the bank where it could be picked up whenever it suits me Diners insist on using a courier company to deliver the card. They, the courier company, have tried twice to deliver the card but everytime it was on a day which suits them (NOT me) and to make matters worse they expected me to be available from 08:00 to 16:00 as they cannot make specific appointments. Maybe there are persons who can do this but as an independent contractor, who only earns money for services delivered, I was not prepared to forfeit a day's income to accommodate some courier company. As a result, six weeks l. later, I still have not received the card, YET, last night I did receive, via e-mail, an invoice to the amount of R605.99 - FOR WHAT??? I responded by asking somebody from Diners to call me, which not surprising, has not happened - hence this public complaint - if it does not prompt Diners Club to contact me at least others can take note of the way they do business.
