I went into FNB looking for a bank guaranteed cheque so that I didn't have to walk around with a huge amount of money. I had to purchase a car at the auction on the day that I went into the branch and needed a bank guaranteed cheque for the deposit for the auction. Unfortunately I was declined service due to the huge amounts of money in my bank account. I was asked a series of questions about the source of funds, where I work, where I reside, etc. After answering countless questions that left me feeling like a criminal and a, I was told they could not assist me at the branch. Apparently the source of funds that were in my account had no contact details and I needed a letter from the source indicating that they deposited the money into my account. I told them I could give them proof if they let me log into the internet as I had an online profile that could provide the proof they wanted. I was told they only had intranet and there was nothing they could do to help me. I am utterly disgusted at this and will be moving my account from FNB as soon as I find a suitable bank that values me as a customer. I've made enough monet for FNB with my returned debit orders! No more!!
