3 weeks it takes to send me "take it or leave it"

My wife had an accident involving a truck insured by Regent. As the driver was at fault and acknowledged guilt, we proceeded to claim damages from Regent. We submitted 3 quotes as requested along with all the documentation. long story short and dozens of emails later they sent me an "offer" to pay 70% of the cheapest quote. leaving me to pay the balance of R9000 odd. Their reason, no one owns the road and it's my wife's duty as a road user to be vigilant.

To say the least I was outraged as the truck hit my wife from the rear right side, no way for her to have "been vigilant" and avoiding the accident.

I then contacted my insurance company (Santam) and the experience to be blunt was mind-blowing. It took Santam a week to process, assign and assessor and approve the claim. I had to pay a R2000 excess which was to be refunded when they got the money out of Regent. Within 3 weeks of contacting Santam, my car was repaired and the excess paid back in full.

Santam you rock. Regent, you can go fly a kite.
