About 6 months ago, I was told by Standard Bank that my advance account with them was "in arrears". When I queried it, they said it was a technical glitch. Upon requesting statements I found that they had in fact been over-charging me for 18 months (almost double the interest rate and additional costs subsequently incurred). They loaded the correct interest rate in June 2013 however did not adjust the over-charges. I sent an e-mail in August 2013 requesting them to adjust the figures. It is now December and the query has not been resolved. There was an e-mail from Aubrey in Customer Assist (who doesn't use his surname on e-mails) to Sulayla Jardine and Rebecca Mphahlele in August instructing them to make the amendments however nothing has been done.
Lindiwe Ledwaba from Customer Resolution Centre called me on the 22nd November after I complained on the STD Bank website. After a half hour conversation, informed me that she could not help and would refer the query to the correct person. Its 2 weeks later and I have still not heard anything.
