Herewith would I like to voice my extreme disgust with FNB. FNB has been my bank of choice my entire life, until recently. I swiped my card on 22 November to pay my dental account for R7414.24 and the transaction went through. A couple of minutes later I received an sms from FNB indicating that the transaction was declined due to exceeding daily limit. I verified this by checking my balance and the outstanding debit authorisations, both indicating that the transaction was declined. I made the payment via EFT. Five days later this transaction was miraculously approved and debited from my account even though my limit is set at R5000.00. This resulted in my account being overdrawn and my debit orders being rejected. Now I want to know who is going to foot the bill for the penalty charges and rectify the consequences due to this situation? As my insurance got rejected due to non payment and now I have hale damage on my vehicle! How can a transaction be rejected by security precautions and then miraculously be bypassed five days later? I debtor have made arrangements to pay back the money but I am seriously considering changing banks due to the additional costs caused by MY BANK!!!
