More than a week after claim logged, no response

ABSA's Insurance Company client service is a bad joke.
Monday 18th November, a power surge at home damaged several insured items (gate motor, electric fence, geyser).
Called ABSA Assist on Monday 18th, they sent me a reference number, last I heard from them.
Logged claim with ABSA Ins. Co on Wed 20th, got claim number, and a promise that someone will contact me in 24-36 hours. 6 days later, I am still waiting.
Called on Friday, could not get through.
Called on Sunday after gate motor failed (surge-related) and we were essentially locked in, the recorded message informed me of their Mon-Fri office hours, no emergency number available. Left a message, no one got back to me. Had to make my own plans to sort out the problem.
Tried my luck again on Monday, was on hold for 10 minutes, then again for 45 minutes! Telkom has better service record than that!
It is now over a WEEK that we have no hot water, the gate is on manual, so the property is essentially not locked, the electric fence is off, which means we are not insured... As far as I am concerned, ABSA is in breach of contract.
They must just try refusing payment for the repairs I have to now undertake out of my pocket.
