Bad Debt Causing issues with credit profile

Hi, My husband is having an issue with FNB. He had an overdraft many years ago that he neglected to pay. It was a small amount. He went to finance an iPhone at FNB and they refuse his finance due to him being a high risk. How can we get this debt cleared from his FNB profile. We want to apply for a bond in the next year and we both bank with FNB. We want to sort this out. Please contact him.
