SMS fee?!

Noticed a R3 SMS fee on my statement, first time it has been there. Phoned Virgin and was told its for sms notifications, but if i dont want to pay for it then they can always remove the notification service. Really now?! Its not even on your schedule of fees, so where does this come from all of a sudden? Also did not get a revision of fees letter. Come on guys!!
