Points awarded for vehicle purchase

If I purchase a car via FNB I am awarded 1% of the purchase price in EBUCKS. So if I purchase a car for R400 000 - 14%VAT = R 344 000 X 1% = 3440. So FNB is awarding me R 340... really - what is the benefit?
