1 life direct dont pay when its time to claim

Firstly, I am not surprised to find so many similar complaints on this site. My single parent mother passed away recently which has left us without a bread winner. I have 2 siblings and 2 of us are students. I have being trying to get a claim processed with 1 Life because we are about lose our home and our studies are on hold. I have been sent from pillar to post with endless documents required by them. I finally got all the documents together but they are still stalling. They are now requesting extra medical information all over with various clinics. This looks like they are fishing for an excuse not to pay out. Sanlam life insurance paid out in week under the same circumstances with half of the documents required by 1 Life. Why can't they keep up with a competitor? I am fedup of their tactics of avoiding payouts when it comes to claims. They have advertisements all over and pride themselves with how easy they make it to join, but come claim time then they become a different company. Choose your life insurance cautiously as some companies are just in it to collect premiums but not help the people you will leave behind.
