Zurich Insurance Company
Incomplete repairs and no feedback

Business & Finance

Three months ago, I submitted a claim with Inscon Risk Services after I had driven over an island and my car sustained damages to the undercarriage. They sent the car to Bodytech2000 for repairs, where it was fixed and returned to me. A week after the vehicle was returned I noticed a rattling sound from the front of the vehicle as if something was lose and the vehicle lost power. I contacted Inscon, but they said I should contact the assist line since it was after hours. I then contacted the assist line and had the vehicle towed home. A few weeks later I tried to use the vehicle again, and it was still not as powerful as before the repairs, but was driveable. A few weeks later while driving in Sandton, the alternator fell off causing the v-belt to snap and I'm not sure if any further damages were sustained. On inspection, it was discovered that the bolts holding the alternator had been broken due to the impact on the undercarriage, but bodytech said they do not deal with those kinds of damages and had not looked at that at the time of the accident claim. It makes absolutely no sense to me why the assessment and repairs initially done were only for visible damage.
