On the 12th of October 2013, I went to Standard bank ATM installed at Engine garage at Burgersfort to withdraw money and my card got swallowed. When I was busy battling to report the incident, I got a message that R 5000 was withdrawn from my account in the nearby mall and R 797 was also used at Pep cell. It happened between 12:30 and 13:00. I reported the case with them and was told to wait for 20 which I did. They never called me in the process and was told on the 20th day when i called ten that I won't get my money back and say I'm a victim of card swapping. No one helped me. How can a withdrawal be made from my account without my pin? How possible is it that a card be swallowed by one machine and a withdrawal be made from another machine which is a distance away? It is my hard earned money and I want it back. They must also tell me if it is no longer safe for me keep my money with them because its like they are from us now.
