First National Bank
Pointless Internet Banking

Business & Finance

Money was transferred into my account at 23.00 via Internet banking from an FNB account for my debit orders to run at midnight. All my debit orders bounced and I was charged a fee of R138 for each debit order. I contacted the "customer service centre" to query this as the money had not cleared by 8:00 the next morning. The customer service centre informed me that money transferred via internet banking after 16:00 does not clear until the next morning. Customers were not informed of this change as money used to clear immediately. Whats the point in having internet banking if it shuts down at 16:00. My company stays open till 17:00 and we cannot do payments after 16:00? This is a huge inconvenience to customers. I do not feel I need to pay these charges now. I am extremely busy during the day and do not have time to personal payments during the banks working hours. for supposedly the best bank this is extremely disappointing. I now wish to close my business and personal account and move to another bank if this is not resolved.
