Repudiation of Claim

My wife and I are insured through first for woman, on Saturday morning 24 January, the company submitted a debit to the bank, it was returned as my wifes salary was paid in an hour later, that same morning at approximately 06h00 we had an accident, our trailer was very badly damaged (write off according to assessor) and vehicle has approximately R30 000-00 damage.
On our return Saturday, my wife made arrangements for them to take the unpaid debit order again which was successfully done Thursday 24 January. We have now been informed that due to the unpaid debit order, they will not pay the claim.
To top this now that the vehicle is not functional we asked them to tow the vehicle back to our home town Johannesburg from Sasolburg, to which they blankly refused- even though the policy is still in force and we are covered.
This to me does not make any sense, and I can only understand why people are so dubious of insurance companies, and why they have such bad names.
