Following Absa employees advise, I went to my closest branch, to change my account type. The consultant made me wait, while she sorted her insurance claim. They promised to load my beneficiaries, and to notify the said companies of account change for debit orders. Little of these promises were kept. A week after the change, I phoned the appointed consultant, told her that the Information desk clerk, who assisted me had trouble loading my beneficiaries, and shared my concerns, she was not sympathetic, and didn't lend any additional assistance. Two weeks down the line I still don't have my "upgraded" credit card, I had to go to the branch twice to activate my Internet banking, (first attempt took more than an hour), and get my cheque card issued, and already one debit order was returned. The branch manager tried to make amends, but also didn't stick to her promise to let me know of when I can expect the credit card, which was supposed to take 5-7 working days. It's been 12 days since (not counting weekends), I would really appreciate feedback, after being an Absa client for 24 years I deserve it.
