For two days I have been trying to get hold of anyone to assist me. Today only I was on hold for 76 minutes!
I lodged a claim with Absa Home Owners Insurance about a burst pipe in the bathroom. Quick response, plumber came out, detected the leak under the bath. His recommendation: old house, old pipes. With the new geyser that has also been done by Absa a few weeks prior, the pressure in the pipes will cause continuous burst pipes. He reckons it best to replace the pipes and that is in his report and motivation to the Insurance.
ABSA agreed to fix the pipe and that is where my nightmare started! Since yesterday I have been trying to get hold of someone, anyone to authorize that instead of only fixing the pipes, they replace it, which in time will cost them LOTS of money. From the claims department to the policy department and again and again and again. I spoke to Angeline, after I was on hold for Amanda for half a day, she assured me it is the policy department, there I spoke to Tidi and numerous others, back at claims I spoke to Angeline again, Lionel, Mpho, Elsabe Jacobs (who never phoned back) and all convinced me Amanda is the right person. I am still waiting for Amanda...
