MotorMend contract commencement date 2014/09

I took a MotorMend drive2 contract for my BMW on 30 September, I was told there was no waiting period for this, and my first debit order has ran now in October, and I'm OK with this, and No my car is fine..
But the policy document say policy commencement date is 2014/09/24, why is that?
I called and quieried this a weeke ago and was told it was a mistake, someone from Innovation Group was gona call me to get this fixed, I wana know when will this be fixed? and why is it taking so long?
