I had a problem changing my internet banking profile and linking accounts. The error displayed was "CombiCard has prohibitive hold". I was told that nothing could be done over the phone and I must go into a branch to get it fixed. When I went in I was told this error was because I had reported my card missing in 2012 and I must get a new card even though the missing card was replaced at the time. Now I have been forced to get a new card and will be charged again. This is totally unacceptable that nothing could be done for me over the phone and again its bad advertising. Does anyone in Absa understand this? I want to know why I was forced to drive to a branch and then forced to buy a card which I already had?
