I have continuously struggled with all Absa branches that I have gone to. I cannot put my finger on it so much as saying that it is a decaying company from the inside out and I struggle to believe that any good people still work there. Absa uses a business technique of making money by keeping customers in the dark. That idea of "Leaving out information is the same as lying" applies. When I became too old to be a member of a "children's" account Absa automatically and without a phone call transferred me to the most penalty ridden costly account imaginable. In a separate event I applied at the bank for Internet and sms services. I specifically asked if it was free and was told that it was, only to find a R30 once off fee on my statement and a separate fee each month thereafter. I hate this company with the intensity of a thousand burning suns. What I require from Absa is more than a quick fix, I require a company overhaul. Please also understand that with all I have gone through, I am a saint for not switching banks sooner. Avoid this Bank at all costs as they are sly and deceptive. They are the king of the hidden fee and a danger to your hard earned money.
