I obtained a business loan from Standard Bank, Business Banking in September last year that was a bad experience on its own. Unfortunately the business was 'hi-jacked' by the previous owner in May'13. I raised the issue with the Northcliff branch (Elaine Pillay) and sent her all the documents pertaining to the hi-jacking. Unfortunately they were not able to help. So I elevated the issue to Standard Bank's Head office Business Banking Division and spoke to a Miss Kaylash Baailah (CRR SERVICE Recovery Unit). I explained the matter to her and sent her all the documents (from my attorney handling the hi-jacking) and asked for a meeting to resolve. Ms Baailah explained that the matter would have to take its course i.e. I can't pay the loan anymore, so it gets handed over to legal, legal issues summons and makes a case out of it. From my side I have cashed in a policy that will cover 90% of the loan and work out an amicable solution. Ms Baailah for the last month, and numerous emails (phone calls don't get taken) cannot provide me with a senior person's details that I can meet with to try and resolve!!! So it looks like big Standard Bank will charge me interest and legal fees...
