I was insured with FNB Insurance Brokers -the FNB Gold policy.

I noticed this month that the insurance premium had gone up, by a whole R220!!! I called in and got a cheecky consultant (Mina Ferreier) who says that they closed this particular policy and migrated my policy to Auto & General, and if it "makes you happy, you can go to the ombudsman about it".

Its confusing because at this point i don't even know what I'm covered for!!! I'm paying a higher premium with an insurer I know nothing about... and I HAVEN'T EVEN CONSENTED TO IT!!! The way I understand contracts & laws governing them is that there has to be 2 or more consenting parties, and in this case, one would assume it has to be in writing. The fact that no one contacted me about this is upsetting... and almost.

When I was looking for this cover, FNB was very happy to assist me and now that they don't need my business anymore no-one wants to talk, or in the case of Mina, they are now being cheeky about it!!!

I am not happy with how business is conducted here and would appreciate it if someone would call me to sort this out, and give me courtesy to make my own decisions about which insurer to go with.
