Hold on Credit Card

I have a Visa credit card through ABSA, in January this year i had medical expenses that the medical aid did not cover. There was no payment on card for about 3 months due to this expense. For the last 5 months there has been regular payment and more then the minimum amount due yet ABSA refuse to lift the hold on the card. The question was also raised is that why am i been charged the monthly fee when i cant use the card and the response was because the card is in your possession, agreed but it's useless piece of plastic. When i asked her when the hold will be lifted she told me it's system generated so she does not know, yet when the account was up to date 4 months ago i was told to make regular payments for more then 3 months and this will sort out the issue. ABSA is absolutely useless and I will never bank with them.
