I called AF on 23/09 for feedback wrt my unclaimed benefit funds application received by AF 01/08/2013. I was informed it was declined by SARS and I should contact SARS to find out why!! I contacted SARS (case no 117028432) & was advised it was declined as my tax no did not match my ID no. AF has record of my old ID no ending 012 whereas my new ID ends 087. I sent certified COPIES of both ID's (old/new) to AF with a note indicating change of ID no. Why did AF not amend there records to reflect my new ID no as this would have prevented my claim from been declined. What I would like to know why AF could not contact me - they send SMS asking for there services / consultants to be rated surely they could SMS advising when your application declined!!! I was told by consultant Vuyo it would take 3days for AF to be resubmitted to SARS & then a further 2days for SARS to approve. Lets see if this query can be resolved in the 5days as I noted there's a lot of negative comments about AF not keeping deadlines & not communicating. Surely AF should find a way to contact people about there applications and not wait until we call in only to be told it's declined. Again I have to wait for payout
