Phone insurance - Repaired phone with cheap glass

When I bought my phone, a guy from Cell C took it out of the box and scratched the screen with his car key. The Samsung S3 luckily has gorilla glass so there were no signs of scratches on the screen. And this is exactly what these smart phones need, Gorilla Glass. The amount of exposure that an average smart phone's screen take in a day is a lot. There is a reason they don't fit them with cheaper glass.

I pay more than R160 p/m for insurance on a phone that cost me R329 p/m. It's basically half the phone's price per month. The phone took a hard fall and the screen shattered. I registered my claim with Miway and they organised that it be sent to a company called Smartlab.

I got the phone back and continued normal use. After a few days I noticed a ton of small scratches over the screen. I called Smartlab and they confirmed they do not use Gorilla Glass for repairs.

Now I'm thinking - I have my car and 2 phones insured at Miway, if my car is in an accident and its engine breaks, will you replace it with a smaller engine?

Please (seriously) don't call me if you don't wish to take the phone back in and fix it. I will however be cancelling my insurance if this is how it is left.
