First National Bank
Purchase prepaid electricity

Business & Finance

FNB offer a service where one can buy prepaid electricity on line.
On 5 August 2013, I tried to buy R500- worth of electricity on line. The print-out gave me a token number to load onto my meter at home but was 4 digits short. My Cheque account was debited with the R500- but even though I tried to load the short number, it obviously would not accept.
A series of phone calls to FNB proved ineffectual and I was eventually instructed by FNB on-line banking to communicate with the Municipality as they are the ones who allocate the token numbers. A call to the Municipality was just as ineffectual and they instructed me to sort the problem out with the Service Provider, FNB.
I feel that it is the responsibility of FNB to sought out the problem with the Municipality. After all, I don't know how they liaise with the Municipality and how their systems work.
As at today, 6 September (a month later), the matter remains unresolved.
To say that I am not impressed with the lack of service from FNB is putting it mildly.
