A couple of years ago when I was retrenched my credit card went into arrears as the retrenchment insurance had been removed from the account. At the same time I found out that the insurance on my overdraft did not cover retrenchment as I had opened my account before the bank had included retrenchment on their policy. On the overdraft side the full amount was demanded at first by an agent from the bank, but later I was informed it could be paid off. Since then I have paid up around 70% of the overdraft, but they will not stop doing limit decreases. On the credit card side I was made several payment offers which I accepted, only to find out that the proposed payment offers had not been accepted by management (without notice, despite the agents telling me someone would contact me if the arrangement was not acceptable). I ended up in legal, with the exact same arrangement that the call-centre had last offered, but the supervisors had rejected without notice. Now I discover that my revolving credit plan has been blocked despite being up to date. I have reduced my debt to this bank significantly and am employed on a full-time basis but they seem determined to "punish" me.
