I HAD A CHEQUE ACCOUNT WITH STANDARD BANK, THEY GAVE ME AN OVERDRAFT OF R4200 OF WHICH I USED R4000, I OPENED ANOTHER BANK ACCOUNT AT A DIFFERENT BANK CONTACTED STANDARD BANK AND ASKED THEM TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT OF WHICH THEY SAID THEY DID, THEY DID NOT MENTION THE OVERDRAFT OWING AT THAT TIME THEN AFTER A YEAR (01/07/2012) THEY CALLED TO INFORM ME THAT I OWE THE AMOUNT OF R4500 ON THE OVERDRAFT ARREARS INCLUDED, I MADE AN ARRANGEMENT TO PAY R750 (FROM 31/07/2012 TO R04/03/2013) PER MONTH AND I MADE 7 PAYMENTS OF R750 WHICH AMOUNTED TO R5250 THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME, I CONTACTED THE SERVICE CENTRE AND ASKED IF MY PAYMENTS ARE REFLECTING AND WHY AM I NOT RECEIVING ANY FEEDBACK OF SETTLEMENT, THEY SAID I STILL OWE R1080 OF WHICH I PAID SAME DAY (11/04/2013) USING INTERNET TRANSFER, THE FOLLOWING DAY (12/04/2013) I CALLED TO FOLLOW UP IF THEY RECEIVED MY PAYMENT THEN THEY GAVE ME SOME ADMINISTRATION STORY SAYING I NEED TO PAY R150, I ASKED WHY CAN'T THIS OVERDRAFT BE SETTLED AS I HAVE PAID A LOT MORE BY NOW AND ALSO I ASKED THEM TO CLOSE IT WHY DOES IT KEEP ASKING FOR MONEY? THEY SAID I MUST GO TO A BRANCH AND PAY THE R150 THERE ALSO THAT MY ACCOUNT CAN ONLY BE CLOSED AT BANK NOT TELEPHONICALLY
