An unauthorized debit went through my account of 23 August 2013 for R129, 99. The debit was put through by Stratcol on behalf of DJ Solutions. When I enquired with DJ Solutions this is the response I received from them:

We are processing an inquiry on your behalf, a full refund will be issued if you were wrongfully debited.

The account number will be blocked off our systems so that no further debits go off your account.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

Although this may seem acceptable, it is actually not. As I put it to them, it costs money to reverse and stop unauthorized debits and the other worrying factor is 'what if there was no money in my account at that particular time'? This affects my name negatively with the bank for something that I am not aware of. Companies like these must be seriously dealt with, in fact they must be closed. To me it is because it means that someone out there has access to my bank account and can money from me anytime they wish. The sad part is, while they do that, the liability with me. How sad! A full audit on how these companies generate income must be carried out, period.
