Standard Bank
Selling and reselling debt to Agencies

Business & Finance

On 28 May 2013 I was contacted by Nimble Collections with regards to an account I thought was paid up in February 2012.They said i Owed R4341.90 on this account, i agreed to pay as nobody could find any information on payments made at National Debt Collections which said i was paid up. I paid directly into the Credit card at Standard Bank June and July amounting to R600.00.Wednesday 21/08/13 a place called DMC called to say they have the account now and i owe R4759.52.I called Standard Bank legal today, they informed me i cannot get information from them as DMC bought the account from them and i must contact them for a statement. They cannot tell me why this account jumped from R4341.90 before the R600 payment to R4759.52 after the R600 payment. If i received the correct information last year when they stopped the monthly debit order from National Debt i could have been finished with this account. The banks make it more difficult for people to keep track of their debt and amounts outstanding if they keep on selling the account to different Collection agencies. If i had the money i would pay them one time and be done with it. I did not have a problem with the payments they stopped it
