On 21 January 2013, I used the Standard Bank atm in the Glen, and with no explanation my card was swallowed. The slip said that the card had expired (there is no expiry date on their debit cards!!). I went straight to the bank and was issued a new card by Bayanda Kumalo (who did not seem to know the procedure). I went back to the atm in the centre and the my new card was rejected. I have my mother in a wheelchair, and I had to push her back to the bank which is quite a distance for a 2nd time. The treatment I got from the staff and the manager, Maureen was appaling. I was shunted all over for more than 2 hours with no satisfactory outcome. The only person who tried to help me was Dalila Zaki. I did not want a new card - there was nothing wrong with the old one, and now I'm told that there is a problem with the new card, and yet Standard Bank thinks it's okay to still issue them. I have supported them for more than 30 years, but obviously they don't care if their clients are unhappy. Very, very disappointed.
