Wrong accounts are used for frequent payments

Business & Finance

On FNB's website the user is given the facility to enter "frequent payments", a fantastic facilty if it works. But it does not work the way it should.
When one captures a new frequent payment (or recipient), the very first question one must answer is:
"Choose the default paymnt account". I understood that this means future payments will always go off this account, as the the wording says - default payment account.
Yet, when one activates the actual payment, it goes of another account, not the nominated payment account.
I phoned FNB and after I was transferred five time because I was at the wrong department, I eventually spoke to Harold.
I expalined my problem to him and after about 15 minutes he told me: "Sorry, this is how the system was designed and FNB is not changing it". In so many words het said that one must choose the default payment account for love and charity.
My point is that if the chosen paynent accout was never meant to be used to affect the actual payment, why must one choose a default payment account at all? Is this a oversight on FNB's side or does the system not work as inteded. I suspect the latter. This being the case, then FNB should change it's systems.
