Good day, On the 15th of July a colleague of mine, Africa Matji attempted to withdraw money from his Capitec Account from a Standard bank ATM. The ATM proceeded to swallow his card. My Colleague then immediately contacted the bank to cancel his card during which time he received an sms to say R3000 was withdrawn from his card. My colleague took the matter up with the bank and was initially told the matter would be investigated but he was subsequently dismissed and told there was nothing that could be done for him even though he reported the matter and was not in possession of his card nor the R3000. While this should not be my battle to fight I find it appalling that my colleague just had to accept that the bank was unwilling to look into the matter. R3000 is a large sum of money to be robbed of as a result of ATM . I have a signed affidavit from my colleague along with references of the calls he made and would appreciate contact details from you in order to accompany this complaint with the documentation. I expect that you will take this matter seriously and please assist my colleague in refunding his taken money back.
