I opened an account with FNB and had every intention of using it until undisclosed fee's were being billed to my account.

I had no interest in continuing to do further business with FNB and intended on closing my account.

At the end of the month i received an email to say my account has had no activity for the last 30 days and should there be no further activity on the account they would close it on my behalf. At this time my account was in arrears in the amount of R99.00

I called up the contact centre to request that i deposit that amount into the account and further request that they close the account. I was advised that I needed to do this in store.

I unfortunately work and did not have spare time on my hands to pop into a branch.

Despite receiving an email saying that FNB were closing my account, they continued to charge me a service fee on a monthly basis.
This carried on for 3 months after i had receive the email that my account had been closed.

Yesterday i checked my credit record and i have been listed for bad debt written off.
Not once was i called to request payment be made.
Instead, you ran up my bill despite informing me the account would be closed!

PATHETIC!
