On Friday I reported on my credit card (only R9) and immediately called to cancel the card. The lady I talked to did not want to cancel the card and advised me to try and locate the company who charged the card. Then after that call another R1000 was taken from the card. I tried to call again but had to hold on so long that I had to give up and drive to the bank. At the bank the queue was so long (as always) and while waiting more charged went off. Finally I located the bank manager who assisted me very promptly. A case was opened and now I get emails that I have to call them - calling and holding on for more than half an hour on a cell phone and never getting to anyone still 4 days later. I send numerous emails to the department and still get no response. Now, after my credit card was cancelled I get calls from machines that my credit card payment is due and I have to pay... the card was cancelled and a investigation is pending. No one calls me but very quick to let the machine call and tell me I have to pay. This is terrible service fro a bank! I may just have to find another bank. Poor show Standard Bank. Shame on you for treating customers like this.
