I was busy checking my bank statements when I realised that discovery had not been deducting my insurance premiums for the last 2 months. I called to enquire and was informed that the debit order could not go through on the set date, and when they tried two weeks later, it did not go through again. The result was that they suspended my account. Fair enough.
My concern is that, when the debit order did not go through the first time, or the second time, or when they were deciding to suspend the account, I did not recive a single call, sms or email to inform me that there was a problem (which I would have promptly rectified) Further more I have been driving around in an uninsured car, without any idea that my policy was suspended.
Apon discovering this information I asked them to reissue my policy and avoided using my car. I was told to expect a call the next day. The phone call didnt come, and I had to call them back again.
Again I was assured someone would get back to me as soon as possible. Again no one did. Eventually after calling them myself, I was put through to someone who could help.
The new quote was over 2000 whereas I was only paying 1400 previously.
I drive a Toyota.
