I was involved in a on 19 July and went to the bank to stop my cards and get new ones. Immediatly, their attitude was that without an original ID, I can't get a new card.

My ID was together with my handbag and all other documentation. I will take me 6 weeks to obtain a new ID. I had a certified copy of my ID with me, but they refused to assist.

I would assume this happens quite often in SA, and still they have no compassion or alternative in how we can obtain a new card. So now it's easy for me - they can keep the cards as I will be closing all accounts with them - after being a loyal custmer sine Volkskas was still in existance about 26 ago... This is how much a client of 26 years is worth to them - NOTHING!!!
