Garnishee Orde

At the end of June I received notice from my employer that they had received a Garnishee Order for my salary from Bayport for R900 / month. My issue is not with the order, I don't dispute I owe the money, but the fact that Bayport never bothered to try to contact me to make an arrangement. They obviously know where I work and have my contact details, but NO, rather than come to me directly and find out what I can actually afford, they put a garnishee on my salary and make me look stupid at my work. Thanks.
