Will not close my account

I contacted FNB at the end of June to close my FNB Platinum Credit Card account which had been paid in full. The agent put me through to retentions who tried to change my mind. After I insisted on having my account close, I was informed that I had outstanding interest due. I then proceeded to pay this amount and reply to the email I received with the proof of payment. This took place on 4 July 2013.

Today is the 29 July 2013 and the account has still not been closed. I was told it will take a maximum of 14 working days. We are well past that. I have also received a statement saying that this months bank charges of R55 is due. I refuse to pay this as I would have not incurred this amount if this matter was dealt with timeously and within FNBs stated timeline.

FNBs service is pathetic. This is not the first time I have experienced a problem of this nature (amongst other problems). This is why I have moved my primary banking actvities to another bank.
