First National Bank
False E-Bucks promises

Business & Finance

I recently signed up for an FNB account, during the early stages I received an SMS stating the following:

"FNB Congratulations in receiving your new Cheque Card. Use your Cheque Card 5 time or more in the next 10 days to pay for purchases, and receive R200 worth of eBucks into your eBucks account."
Received SMS 8th of May

I proceeded and made the required swipes within the 10 day window. When the new month started I checked my balance and found that I never received the promised eBucks. This started a bunch of phone calls to your various help desks. Each resulting in a different excuse. I then proceeded to log an e-mail call with their complaints department (25 June). I received feedback today 12th July, Feedback below:

Please note that the client does not qualify to get the eB2000 as he did not meet the criteria. The sms that you received stated T&Cs apply. At the time that the terms and conditions were on the eBucks website it did advise that you need to ensure you meet all the earn criteria in order to earn the R2000 eBucks.
For the month of May you did not meet the earn criteria as you have not had a minimum monthly deposit of R16500 going into your cheque account.
