Ank should protect our money

May 25th at about 13:05 I tried to withdraw R100 at Centurion branch ATM, my card got blocked and I did not get the money or the card. I called the toll free number provided on the ATM and the lady assisting me said the money was still safe and I should go to the bank on Monday. I did on the 27th at the Centurion branch
I used the ATM on the 9th of June when I realized that I had money missing. Monday I went back to the branch to request a statement and to inform them of what had happened. The statement indicated that at 13:25 an amount of R2500 was withdrawn from my account. They informed me that they will log an investigation which will take up to 21 days and they will contact me with the outcome.
The bank called and said they will only be giving me back half of the amount. What I don't understand is that they have cameras to the place, they have the telephone records of the incident and I got assured that the money was safe and when I went for another card they did not inform me of any transaction that took place after reporting the card. I am deeply disappointed as I wave been trying to save for my studies and by the bank, I just don't know who to trust anymore
