No Life insurance on Home loan

Today I went to mentioned branch to confirm what to do as I was been retrench. The lady at the enquiry desk was very helpful and phone the home insurance who then advise me to phone the credit life. We hold on for 30 minutes only to be told that we only cover when you died phone Life insurance. We then phone life insurance and after check been advise Sorry you are not covered please phone the following number in order to make arrangements how you can pay. There I stood high and dry what type of bank doesn't cover you in case of retrenchment and that in South Africa. Very disappointed I stand around and the Manager walk up to me. After telling her how disappointed I am she then stated that it is the customer choice on covers to chose. Without any assistance she walk away. I have the account since 1995 to be ignored and misinformed by Absa like that!!!
