Must I really be brought to tears trying to cancel

What does it take to cancel a policy with Outsurance? The operator refused to simply cancel after numerous pleas from myself to do so. He insisted they investigate it further. I was in tears when I put the phone down. And this all for only a quote request which became a policy - only 2 weeks ago. All I want is written/email confirmation of cancellation. Please Outsurance???
